I have a ten gallon tank with four x-rays tetras, and a small pleco, it has good plant cover, i have gotten answers both ways but will a dwarf gourami do well? and what kind is best recomended, i guess im kinda looking for it to be my "centerpeice fish" (hope im using that right)
It would do ok but instead of getting the dwarf you could get some more x rays..

First off a pleco will get bigger then the tank. but after that it should work.

will the pleco really get that big? i had a discussion with another guy at the fish store and he was saying that the pleco will only get as big as its enviroment like turtles or plants to a pot

the big as the environment thing is bad, the fish get stunted and they will be prone to disease and it drastically shortens their life. smaller plecos need at least a 33g, best 55g, and common plecos need a 150g fullgrown

wow i feel dumb, its not like the pleco is some super expensive fish that the guy stood to make a profit off of, the guy just suggested it as a fish that will help me keep the tank clean and is easy maintenece. i figured i the owner of a pet store knew what he was talking about

how big is he?
he should be okay in that tank for 1-2 more months, or you could sell him
