Hey everyone, I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions of a small algae eater to go in a 10 gallon with a Krib. and 6 black skirts. Any suggestions are appriciated. Thanks!

Well, you are a little overstocked. The krib needs a 20 gallon, and the black skirts are a bigger tetra. If you get 6 smaller tetras then you could have 2-3 otocinclus.

All the pages I read about the Kribs before I got one said that they can be kept in 10 gallons but do prefer more. Aren't Ottos supposed to be really finicky though? The ones in my local petstore are usually all dieing.

If you acclimate them well an have sufficient algae growth when you get them, I can't see why they would be finiky.

My otos have done great in my 10g! As mentioned, just make sure you acclimate them properly and that you have enough algae for them to feast on, and you'll be just fine! They're great little fish!!

how about a siamese flying fox
i would have said a bristle nose but i think the tank is too small for them
or you could have a snail
Agreed with Shock about the stocking. Too much for a 10 gallon, it will eventually cause problems. That being said, if you were to decrease your current stocking you could add some otos or a few snails or a combination.

I think snails would work...........
