So i got a 300w heater with my new tank and somehow the glass on it cracked in half and water got in....not working. luckily i have the substrate heater and the lighting which is keeping it around 75degrees still.(no fish in there anyway.)

The last owner gave me the box with the heater and it has a lifetime warranty and didn't know if this is covered or if anyone knew what would be?

I'll just transfer stuff from my other tank more quickly and use that heater for in a week or two but didn't know if i should try to get a freebie replacement.

I believe it's a Marineland Visa-Therm Deluxe

What brand is the heater? It really depends on what the brand is weather I'd try it or not.

I've always heard good things about Marineland's customer service. It may well be worth trying to get a replacement. I'd omit the fact that it is a second-hand heater though. ;) For some reasone some companies will not transfer warranties.
