I've been told that this may not nbe the best idea. I thought i would ask for mre opinions though.
My stocking would be
6 zebra danios
2 german blue rams
the cleaning fish is undecided at the moment. The gourami that i own will be going in a 20 gallon i am hoping to get running. The 10 gallon will have some live plants and i am getting probably an aqua clear on it. So now any opinions?
Thanks,
Patriot

You would be better off putting 2 GBRs in a 20g.

i wouldnt do it. When i only had two in my 40g after a while they wouldn't stop fighting. In a 40g!!! 4 breaks up the fighting. Which you cannot fit so i'd go with 1.

What about the blue gourami though? He gets 6" and he cant stay in the 10g much longer.

Probably could have 2 GBRs and your gourami in a 20g with a good amount of caves and sight blockers.

I have had 2 brichardi that were in a 10 gallon live just fine. They follwed each other all day and defended the same territroy all day. They never killed there tankmates either. The 2 loaches and the gourami got along just fine. Maybe the same would go for the rams.

Brichardi arent rams. Its your tank and fish so its upto you. im just giving you my opinion.

I guess another thing i could do is give the flavus cichlids back to my brother and change that tank into a community tank. Or i could give the rams a try and if it doesnt seem to be working out they sould be sent back to the store. I hope i can keep them. They are probably my favorite fish by far. They look nice and have a great personality.

I've given my opinion on this, but ultimately it's up to you.
I just have to say that, really, rams should have at least 20 gallons. However, that being said you can keep one in your 10 gallon, since your only other fish are the danios which occupy an entirely different strata of the tank. You could put one blue ram in if you wanted, 20g+ would be better but you could put him in. A pair of rams is a no IMO, too much agression and too many territory fights. Just not a good idea I think.

If Patriot gets a male and female that have paired, he should be able to handle the pair with enough places to hide.

That was my plan! I was planning on getting a male and female. and I'm planning on keeping with 6 zebra danios and the blue gourami. The blue gourami wil have a new home soon after. I am also going to get an Aqua Clear filter on there instead of the Aqua Tech filter that came with my 10 gallon kit.

You'd have to be really lucky to get 2 to pair. Its hard enough with say 6 juveniles!

In my limited experience, blue rams are much more willing to pair than bolivians. I had two for like a day and the female was already in the mood.
I think ytou can do it. Just add plenty of hiding places, like thickets of plants, flowerpot or coconut caves, etc.
And this is only my opiniion, but I would get 6 rummynoses or cardinals. But thats just me. Make sure you get quality rams though.

You think that zebra danios wouldnt make good tankmates?

They seem somewhat boisterous. I would go with a amore peaceful species that tolerates the higher temps.
