I just recently purchased a male bolivian ram about a week ago, so far he is doing well in my 20g planted tank. Do you think I should get him 1 female or 2 females?
Thanks.

I would say that one female would be enough.
My experience with the species says that males and females usually get along very well and spawn willingly.
In fact it might be negative effects of having two females since the second may disturb the two other fishes as they try to breed and potentially cause the spawning to fail

actually, a second female may be better. the male wil first chase all the rams, then choosing one female. it might encourage him to spawn if theres compitition
