I know you have to be extremely careful when it comes to doing your own decorations but I seen a tank the other day that someone had done useing those clay pots,he said he has had them in his tank for two years with no harm.

I guess my question is has anyone here made their own decorations.

Im also looking for a place to purchase a real nice backround for my new 90 gallon.

Thanks

Allan

It is true that you should take extra care when making your own decoration and when you are choosing what to use but there are a long row of different things that can be used as decoration.

Clay flower pots and other clay objects is are such things. I will however suggest that you try keeping the clay object in water a few days before adding it to your aquarium since some clay objects colors the water red. This is usually not dangerous but un decorative. Part of clay roofs are another clay object that make good caves.

Other objects that can be used include coconut shells and PVC pipes.

The topic is to large for me to go into to it in more depth here and now but you are welcome to ask additional questions.
