I have watched these things so much I moved my kitchen chair into the bedroom where the tank is. LOL I sat on the floor watching them so long yesterday I couldn't get my legs untangled. They are soooo tiny and those little feet just a goin'.

I never thought I'd want shrimp and kind of got talked into them. Now I wish I had gotten them sooner.

Welcome in the Shrimp World!!!:hmm3grin2orange:
Since we've got our Amano and Cherry Shrimp, we can't sop watching them, sitting in front of the tank, trying to find them...
They're really fun little critters:19: !

Haha, cool little creatures aren't they?

I've got a coral banded shrimp in my 10g, and he is pretty smart. Whenever the water at the front of the tank gets disturbed, like, when I drop food in, he sprints to the front from the back of the LR to get what falls to the ground.

They are really awesome, for sure. Can't believe I didn't want them before. When they grow some, I might add some neons to the tank.

Sorry to hijack this thread with a dumb (unresearched) question. But, how long do shrimp live for? You got me thinking about getting a small tank setup now.

Shrimp like cherries can live for 3 years... but they are like guppies... in a few months your 10 will be 50

I have some Red Cherries. Algenco sells them and you just have to place an order with him! They are very cool.

Yeah, another shrimp fan, you'll never look at a shrimp entré the same way.

Very cool little critters, we just love them.

I can see right now that the tank had better be the way you want to keep it before adding the shrimps. LOL Those babies are so darned tiny I'm afraid I might kill one if I move anything.

Hmmm Hobbsy, you should have put shrimp in the tank a long time ago then. You said you have a hard time keeping your hands out of the tank...well, there you go, instant fix, just add shrimp.

I love shrimp, so do my Angels :c11: So I can't add any of the smaller varieties. I am thinking of getting a couple of Whisker Shrimp. They can get up to 2 inches in length, and I think they may have a chance at surviving in my tank....

They're actually pretty tough.

We just did a complete redo on our 5g and out of 9 cherry shrimp, we only lost one ... and that was my ham fisted fault.

they are definitely addicting :hmm3grin2orange:
Hobbs, don't worry about killing one, they are very fast, stick your hand in and try to touch one.
