Does anyone know what a whisker shrimp is? I heard that term a couple of times, and was like what the hell is that? They say it resembles a really big ghost shrimp.

I did that too. I didn't get a result. I do know it exists, I saw one, and it was called a whisker shrimp. Just wondering if anyone else has heard of one, or knows what it is really called.

Since they get big, I don't think my angels could eat it. Hence I am trying to find one.

hmm chinese food huh? Well since they get about 2-3 inches long, it would be a small meal if you had lots of em.

I don't know...I will keep looking. If I see the thing again, I will buy the whisker shrimp, it was a little pricey. I really don't think my angels can put a 2 inch shrimp in their mouths, and I would really enjoy seeing a shrimp or two in my tank.

This says that they only get to about 2 inches. I love the look of them! :18:

Hm...I'm addicted to shrimp, I think...

Ellen found it. Now to figure out where to buy the silly things. I will go back to that lfs where I saw it, and see if they have some.

I bought a dozen ghost shrimp from them, put them in my tank, and in 2 days, they were all gone. Seems my angels love shrimp about as much as I do.

Whiskers are the same color, as ghosts, just bigger. I don't think my angels can eat em.

<chuckles> Don't I know it. Like I said, they took out a dozen ghost shrimp in a matter of 2 days.

A 2 inch shrimp is a pretty big mouthful. The whisker shrimp has some claws to it, so it may be able to defend itself.

I will get one, and see what happens.

yeah good idea to start with only a few. Your tank is planted so that could help a bit.

Size notwithstanding, any crustacean is vulnerable after a molt. If there are sufficient hiding places they might stand a chance.
