Okay, I've my golden dojo loach for months now and was doing great, but lately he's been floating around the top of my tank. Then I woke up this morning to find that all his fins had been destroyed. There's some white fleshy stuff on his top fin. I really don't want him to die please help me fast.

It sounds like fin rot alright!! Have you checked the water quality??

Water quality is fine. Also the temperature was a little hot for him so he was floating around the top cooling down, so my gouramis might've beat him up. Also what is melafix and pimafix?

Wow, I hope he pulls through! Do you have a quarintine tank where you could stick him so he doesn't get picked on while he heals? It's always good to have meds on hand incase something like this happens...

I could set-up a quarentine tank, but it would have no heater, not too bad for him since they're a cold water fish. Also I have some tetracyiline or however its spelled.

Why on earth are you keeping coldwater fish with tropical fish?

I don't know I just saw him at the pet store so I got him and brought him home. What other kinds of coldwater fish are there?

Well he died and I lost my pleco too, I think it infected the pleco too, will it infect any of my other fish? If so how would I treat it?

Sorry to hear about your dojo and your pleco. I hope no one else gets sick.

Please practice responsible fish keeping and you won't keep having these problems. Never buy a fish until you have thoroughly research it.
