Since my shrimpies are coming today and I am just too excited, I've been reading about them today. The list of things they eat was helpful I thought as well as a few other tips here.

I had no idea they got so big! Some get to 3 1/2". Wow. I just had them pictured as little bug looking things scrurrying around. (OK. I've never had shrimp!)

They will have to go in my 20 gallon planted that I have emptied out just for them. I would like to put a couple of the larger ones in my 55 gallon but I have two featherfins in that tank so guess that's out? I don't know if featherfins would kill them but I rather think so. I can have the smallest of fish with them but they are getting pretty large and rather bossy.......pretty near 6 inches now.

I do soooo badly need another tank so for now will just keep the shrimp alone until I can get the featherfins re-housed.

Way to go Hobbs. You'll love the shrimp.

We had mixed feeling at the start too, but since we've bought our Amanos and Cherries, we've been hooked. They're really interesting little critters.

Max size is around 3 cm
Cherries require no special care, in a well established tank they can get by with 1 feeding per week.

As the article stated they are great for cleaning algae from plants!

Is there a shrimp frenzy going on? LOL I think I've seen about 3 -4 different threads on shrimp. Hey Hobbs....I read part of your article....stuff I've been looking up is somewhat different. I guess experiences are different depending on who you talk to. Here's a link I found.
