which plants can live in a semi-aquatic tank?

i have the TOM 1g aquarium, i bought it a while ago for $25. it has a small internal filter with spraybar, and a 7w clip on CF light

can java fern or any other plant stick out of the top a bit since the tank isnt too tall?

this is basically the tank, mines just FW with internal filter

I heard anubius grows good out the top of water. If you can find a decent sized one at an lfs that would look good!

Some species of Bamboo is a semi aquatic plant.

Anubias will grow fast if not full submerged. Bacopa grows straight out of water. Melon swords only grow half submerged as well. I dont think java fern would grow. Dwarf hair grass will grow half submerged as well. There are plenty of plants that do.

Swords, Crypts, and most stem plants will grow emersed. The crypts won't really grow emersed unless all but the root ball are out of water though. I actually did what you are talking about Cocoa, with my 2.5gal.
