I have 2 power heads that came with my tank. They have the air tubes that create bubbles.... the problem there are SO many bubbles it clouds my tank. Can I plug those or pull the tubs off and let them suck water? Or can I put new tube on it leading to a cheap shutoff valve to slow the amount of air? I really need the powerheads to move the water but I can't take the bubbles.

Thanks,

Jason

Are you using power heads in a freshwater tank? I have only used them in freshwater once. You chould check and see if they are too much for your tank. Maybe u only need one. I am really not that knowledgable about powerheads though. Sorry

Generally power heads come with an air hose attachment if you want the bubbles or a small black plug to insert in the hole to stop that the bubbles but still be able to use the power head. Did you not get that plug?

I used the power head a lot when I was cycling. I kind of like all those bubbles.

They came with my tank used when I bought it!! But I thought I could plug them up. I might run them to a shutoff valve so I can control the bubbles!!

Thanks again!!

My fish love the bubbles. Of course the very smallest ones remain at the far end but the gourami's and some of the larger fish lay right in the midst of all that movement. I wonder at times how they can stay there.
