Springlike day!

Well ,today I started my pond up for the season,all my little buddys are still alive and hungry,its cool watching them eat for the first time after a long winter.I have my water boy fountain going,my side pond/bio filter cranked up and all the little koi and comets are officially cruising for chow.I sure do hate leaving them alone for winter.

Sounds cool Smaug. Hopefully within a few weeks or so, I will have my pond up and running too. I have to do some major remodeling of it, but after that, getting it cycled and throwing in some butterfly koi, I think it will look alright.

Im going to add a bog filter area to my pond this year,the plans are all in my head,I just need to get them to te ground.

And your fish just hibernate in there all winter long?? Where do you live?? Does it ice over??

I live in Pennsylvania.It does ice over but I keep a small pump running right at the surface to keep an air exchange hole open.This is there 3rd winter with no losses.It stokes me to see them all alive in the spring.
