An Orange in my Tank

I fed my otos an orange last night (around 7 or 8, I think...). I was wondering if I could leave it in there overnight again. The orange isn't really eaten that much, and I see the otos go over there occasionally to have a nibble. Do we remove it after 24 hrs because it is mostly eaten by then, or because it may mess with the water chemistry? Just thought I would ask. If I definitely should remove it tonight, then I will.

At 24 hours I'd start to worry about it contaminating the water and causing a bloom.... I grab it out and maybe throw another little snack in...

Any time I feed snacks like that I put them in at lights out and remove them in the morning when I turn the lights on.
