I bought a Java moss ball and another plant for my betta tank today. Yes, I'm going to try real plants again. Maybe the third time will be the charm. My problem is I totally forgot the name of the plant that the guy sold me. Y'all know what this is?

Also, this was a potted plant so I peeled away all the wooly stuff it was potted in and stuck the roots in the sand. It looks like there are a lot of stalks with separate roots stuck together. Should I try to pull them apart and spread them out or is the way I have it planted the way to do it?

Here's Ketchup posing with his new plant. I think he like it.

My first though is that it is a short bunch of Red Ludwigia. Teh leaves look right but the shortness of the plant is throwing me off.

Kriky! I think I've been had! Is it true that Lobelia cardinalis is NOT a true aquatic and is difficult to grow and needs lots of light? Because if that's the case the guy at the store saw me coming.

Oh good! I think I have 3 wpg so maybe it will work! So do you feed yours anything, Florish tabs or anything? And what about separating the plant to spread it out a bit?

I use water column fertz, you can separate them, slow growing. Very popular in Dutch style tanks, used as a border to simulate stream banks, paths, etc

Hmmm, I may try separating them and make a little path in the front of the tank. Nice! The Dutch half of me smiling. :luxlove:

Water column fertz? Don't know what those are. Sorry but I'm a total newb when it comes to plants.

Ok, I'm guessing that "water column fertz" are the liquid variety as opposed to tablets, right? I've heard good things about Seachem Flourish. Guess I'd better pick some up.

Seachem Flourish "comprehensive", or even better is Master Grow

OK, they have changed the name, considered to be the best
