Well. So far everything in my tank is thriving. Questions about the chain sword and where/how to cut it.

I trimmed all the amazon mother leaves and already have a bunch of new growth. 4-6 leaves on both big sections.

My Chain sword has run across my whole tank(actually raced another runner lol) How/where do i cut this so that it will keep running but i can take out some plants to add to my new tank? If i cut the line somewhere will the plants stop growing or the runner stop? It's growing so well i'd hate to hurt that somehow.

My Anubis looks to be putting out a flower or is that just a new leaf that hasn't opened yet? What is it and anyone have a link to what it will look like if it's a flower...?

My HYGROPHILA corymbosa?? is growing great after i really cut it back. Hoping to get it really bushy with a lot of growth so i can quickly add this to my 110gal soon.

The vals have recovered from the copper epidemic(i used had-a-snail). It didn't get ride of the snails but the vals were definitely affected by it. They almost bit the dust.

All the growth you see has been after the cutting i did last week.(amazon sword and the hygophila)

Wow, very nice. I'm guessing that is Echinodorus tenellus. If it is I hope mine grow as beautiful as your.

PV, that new growth on the Anubia could actually be a flower bud. Mine flowered like crazy in my tank. They come out looking like a Cala (sp?) Lilly.

Thats the variety they are so hopefully you're work well two. I bought two plants from the LFS and only one has produced runners while th other one just sits there.... It might be due to it being closer to the back and not getting as much light but it's hard to tell.

I only thought so because it is growing kinda high. It could be that once the leaf opens up it will look like the other leaves but i just thought it would be cool if it happened to be a flower or something.

So can i cut the chain sword anywhere and have the runners continue to keep making new plants?

It's already made about 12. Will those eventually grow and put off their own runners?

It's looking great! My two/three types of echinodorus are doing the running thing all on their own just like ours, the entire bottom of my tank will be covered just like grass. :19: :19:

But can i cut out the middle plants to add to my new tank? I'd hate to stop it's race to grow so many new plants but...
I could either cut the mother plant off and put it in the new tank or cut out the middle little plants....

I don't even know if the little plants that the runners made will eventually turn into a bigger plant and produce it's own runners?

My runners are producing runners that produce runners and so on LOL. I don't see why you can't take out some of the larger runners and plant in another tank. I wish my Christel Kasselmann book from amazon.co.uk would hurry up and show up...apparently she's an expert at all sort of echinodorus.
