Very nice white clouds.

What temp do you have the tank at??

Thanks for asking! I have been keeping the tank at 77-79 I have a bristlenose and an angel and dont want to freeze them :27:

I try to spike it up to 80 for a day or two and take it back down. The warm temperature tend to make the males dance a lot trying to show to the female ( temp of water in spring- spawning season.)Trying to breed them I think i caught them today doing there thing but not sure i scared them out of it :11:

I have been told to keep it COLD but they seem healthy and very lively all the time

Ok. I just wanted to make sure that you knew that they should be at 65-75F. 77-79 is ok for them but try not to raise it any higher.

Yea i have been reading about them, I have tropical and col water fish. They were meant for cycling but had to add some more. I will not be spiking it up to 80 any more, Just been doing it off and on and watch theyre behavior.

Thanks for the comments!!! MUCH APPRECIATED :22:

I love the white clouds! If I had room for some in my tank, I would have a school. I like that they like to school fairly tightly. I had them in the past in my old 29G high, and they would often school up near the filter returns in the current. Beautiful fish they are!

I know once my tank is cycled i was thinking about buying 5 more to be the schooling fish of the community tank in the 35 gallon.
The main reason why i use my undergravel filter is to make them a current , if its on they dont move, they love the currents.
Just got some good pics of them feeding and showing their colors too :hmm3grin2orange:

GREAT looking fish. I find them underrated neat active fish. I had them for yrs when I lived in NY in 55 gallon. I didnt have the gold though love that color I had the regular types and long finned types.
They were breeding machines . I disagree with most care sheets on them that they like it to cool .
I say this because at 72 to 74 they seemed to breed the most show best colors under they didnt breed nearly as much.
I had tank in basement and summer temps went to 76 and in winter it dropped to 65/68.
They thrived in those temps but 72/74 was their ideal temp IMO.

I have been looking for them here here in Miami and impossible to find (I wont buy at area chain type pet store as every fish has ich or half dead)
I want to set up a 55 for them as inside temp is 72 all yr long with ac.
Either way great fish and once you start getting eggs they breed non stop .

thats true they will be fine at 77 to 79 they are very hardy but any higher they get stressed 79 is not a temp they prefer but will live in
