I just received my glass aquarium cover..

I thought if any other fellow n00bs wanted to see what they looked like, here you go:

As you can see from the first attachment (sorry for the blurry pic), for the plastic end piece (plastic, so you can cut holes out to allow for tubes, etc to go into the aquarium) there is a little clip that you attach to the glass..

Included are the lid grabber thingies that you attach with double sided tape (you just have to remove the film covering the underside of the lid, and stick it on).

The lid at the front of the aquarium opens a full 180 degrees, but it will end up resting on your lights..

I've got the exact same ones. If you ever take them off for any reason don't step on them...

LOL! Did you learn that the hard way too?

BTW, those Magic Eraser pads from Mr.Clean are a great and very easy way to keep the glass clean. Just make sure you rinse the glass thoroughly after to make sure any chemical residue is off.

I think I will, to cut down on condensation..

I'm not getting any fish I'm worried will jump, but that's an added bonus (not having to worry)..

I got the same lid with a bowfront tank I just bought at PetSmart. The only difference on mine is the opening is one piece where yours is two seperate openings. I don't use the plastic piece either. It does help a little with condensation. Nice buy!!!

Nice top ya got there Doug! I really like those. I tend not to use much of the flexible back cover on any "hood" or top, for mostly the same reasons.

I have a tank with a glass top and I ended up just leaving it off... the condensation drove me insane. Does the light not annoy you coming out of the top like that? Or have you got reflectors on the lights?

The lights have parabolic reflectors, yes..

Thinking about getting a canopy to cover everything..

Nothing THAT big, though.. And perhaps DIY..
