I picked up a Rena Smart Heater 300 the other day as I had a heater fail. It hooked right up to the intake of my xp3. So far I am very impressed with it. They are a couple of warning indicators on the heater. If the light flashes slow it is not keeping the tank warm enough. If the light flashes quickley it is keeping the tank too warm. With my other heater the water temp fluxuated about 1 degree. From what I have seen it is keeping the tank temp within .2 of a degree for the last 4 days.

That is awesome. I have a xp2 and I might seriously consider getting one of these. My buddy just got a 20 gallon tank and a 50 watt heater has been keeping it perfect.

Very nice. Personally, I like the Hydor in-line models a bit better, just because you attach in-line outside of the tank, giving you the option of using a spray bar or other water flow methods.

You could still use a spray bar. It attaches to the intake not outflow
