My daughters and I went out rock hunting for our new aquarium today and hit the JACKPOT!!! Great rock shapes for stacking and building caves.

Can you say, CHA-CHING?

Check out this piece of driftwood with a cave already in it!

Or how about these cool chunks of petrified wood?

These are very strange rocks for Wyoming. Shells all over one and what looks like some kind of coral thingie (pardon my ignorance)

Very, very cool. Be sure to vinegar test those rocks to make sure they are safe for the tank.

I can't believe how giddy I get over what would have seemed so silly to me a few months ago.:19:

What a GREAT hobby to share with my kids. It's just awesome.

Oh, just wait. You'll start with a tank or two but it will grow. Trust me, I have 13 tanks now.

My reaction too!

GM, did you read the intro by the guy from Wyoming with 40 tanks?

I have three now, since the middle of January and plans for more. I've started remodeling my basement JUST to display tanks.

I'm not gonna be one of the majority that gives up right away.:ezpi_wink1:

Nice job! And the wood is already cut with a nice flat bottom for attaching to that slate!

Exellent looking rocks you found there. The one with shells will raise your ph.
So watch what type of fish you put that one in. I really like the petrified wood and the piece of driftwood with the ready made caves.:thumb:

The one with the shells isn't going in....too ugly. But I had to bring it home just because of the "oddness" of finding it in Wyoming.

The coral and shells are fossils. Limestone. Sometimes we find them in Illinois, too.

...are you sure the one with the shells isn't a concrete of some kind? Maybe someone was making shell cement for some gardening project?
