Please excuse my absence which happened rather unexpectedly.

I am trying now to get to my 87 emails, 45 private messages and getting the photo's loaded up. Those who have sent me a private message and gotten no response from me, I will try to get to all of them today. I hope you don't think I was ignoring you!

March has already been a hellish month!

First, my dinky little phone bill of $40 lead to them shutting me off. I go out to jump in my car to run to town (20 miles) to pay it and my battery was (is) dead. I go to open the hood and broke the bloody hood latch!!!!!! I now have a car with a dead battery but can not replace the battery as the fricken hood latch is broken. (The cable line.)

Big solution..........I borrow my ex husbands crummy old van to drive to town to take care of that phone bill and run out of gas!! First time I've run out of gas in probably 40 years. It seems he forgot to tell me the gas gauge does not work. grrrrrrrrr

Great. Since I then had to buy gas, that left me short money to pay for the phone bill + their exuberance restoration fees. That means I had to wait for my social check to come in. And now would you just believe it, for the first time in 7 years my check is late. It doesn't come the 3rd, 4th, 5th!

To put an end to this story, I finally get my check, drive to town in his van again, send the phone company $90. Then wait and wait some more. Phone still was not on. I borrow the neighbors phone and call them again. Now they want another $51. Back to town again to get another money gram to pay them again.

Now the S.O.B's have gotten $145 + the cost of two money grams totaling $17 more.

They told me this morning my phone would not be back on for another 3-5 days but guess they decided to finally cut me a break because here I am!

I have no idea of what I will do about my car!!!

I wish to thank the fine staff here for covering for me and taking care of the contests in my absense. I was "very" worried but knew I had nothing to worry about with this group backing me up. I also knew if any of them messed up that you fine members would be right there to set them straight!

I really missed all of you a lot!

Good God Lady Hobbs!

I am terriably sorry about the turmoil you have gone thru. Sounds like a PTSS if I ever heard one.

I am glad that you are back, and take your time with what you need. We all miss you yes, but as I know from my hosting days, family always comes first. Take care of what needs to be taken care of. We will all be here when you get back.

As for the hood on your car. When a cable breaks, it depends where it broke. If at the latch on the inside of the car, you can use a visegrip pliers to grasp the cable and open it that way. If under the hood of the car, removal of the grill would be necessary to gain access to the cable.

Wish I was there to help yah out.

Glad you're back...it's just not the same without you here...thumbs2:

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Glad you are back. Things have been hectic for me as well. I'll try to be on more often... lots of club business, loss of personal business, changes in work policies for computer use, etc. etc. etc.

Thanks all. Now, just where did that crying thread go to? I will have to move this thread there. :)

Sure is strange when just nothing goes right for days and days like that and then (hopefully) everything tends to work itself out.

Welcome back mate:thumb:

Depends on the car, sometimes if you crawl under, you can reach the latch mechanism from underneath with a big long scewdriver.

Or you cook cook your son a nice lunch, and while heres there, say oh by the way dear, could you do your mom a little favour:wink2:

Phone company was probably just trying to help reduce MTS. But seriously, sorry to hear about your troubles. Something will come along to even everything out eventually.
