In my Cichlid tank (Oscars, Acaras, convicts) there is to rocks aporx five inches apart and about a foot long each and across the op is a broken pipe so it makes an arch shape and as of 2 days ago my 8 inch Red tiger and my 10 inch Albino have been digging it out together and guarding it i think they may have reached the glass at the bottom of the tank and i cannot see inside the tunnel any ideas what they are doing?

Oscars like to move gravel...and from what I understand, like to lay their eggs on a flat surface...so maybe they are creating a "nursery" for the future. I don't know how old they have to be to breed, but have also heard they can get mighty aggressive if they are breeding so keep an eye on things.

I would agree with kimmers. It is one of two things. They are getting ready to breed (which they both are mature enough to do), or simply rearranging to their liking.
