A couple months ago, I posted that I was really worried that one of my neons had NTD - he had lost pretty much all his red color and his blue was looking very dull, and he had a noticable sideways bend to his spine. Water quality was fine, it wasn't that he was asleep/in low light, and he was DRAMATICALLY different from the other fish - this wasn't just color variation.
He never acted strangely - he was always schooling with the rest of the fish and eating and swimming normally.
I am happy to report that we had him quarantined for about 6 weeks with no special treatment (just wanted to make sure that if he died he didn't get eaten by the other fish and transmit whatever disease he had), and over that time, his color has slowly (VERY slowly) brightened back up and he basically looks completely normal! We added him back to our main tank yesterday and he is one happy camper back with his buddies!
Does anyone have any theories about what might have been wrong?
