Since a big storm is expected to come in tonight, I will be leaving for FL this afternoon. Driving to my sons house down state and spending the night then heading to the airport from there. My intention was to leave here at 4 AM and just drive to the airport but it's a 3 hour drive and I don't want to drive in a storm!

My daughter will be giving me another granddaughter Thursday morning is why I am going there. That and to see my other granddaughter that is 19 months old! I haven't seen her for a year. :( I cried for 3 months when I left her before and doubt this trip will be any different. It's so hard having kids so far away but what can you do?

I will try to check into the forum to say hi now and then but my "job" will be chasing this 19 month old and caring for the new baby for 10 days so doubt I'll have much time to be online.

Everyone! Stay well, stay happy and take care of those fish. See you all soon.

Enjoy playing Grandma....so much fun! I like to say I had kids for 2 reasons 1) to fetch my beers 2) to give me grandchildren!

Kailynn Ann Burke was born this morning at 8:16 AM She is just beautiful. Granny is about worn out already chasing the 18 month old around, doing laundry, cleaning upboards, scrubbing bathroom tiling, cooking, dishes. Man, I think they saved everything for old granny. LOL

Trip here was interesting. Landed at gate 1 in Detroit and had only 25 to next flight out of gate 58 ! Ever watched someone with rheumatoid arthritis running thru the airport 58 gates? Darned if I didn't get to my gate and not a soul there. Gate had been changed to gate 18 so there I go again on my run (hobble). I was the LAST ONE to board the bloody plane. Bugs me as I confirmed this flight about 5 hours before boarding.

Oh well. All is well that ends up and all the aggravation worth being here for another grand.

I miss my fish! Sounds stupid, I suppose. I even left a light on for them.

I arrived home last night to a heck of a mess with my aquariums. Two of them. Newly set-up tank was perfect and all finished cycling but 30 gallon and 20 gallon a mess. Darned if power didn't go out again for many hours here. Water was a mess and two fish are dead but all the rest are just fine and water changes were necessary.

I crashed (fully dressed) on the couch at 8 PM and slept 11 straight hours. I am up and at 'em this morning again.

Baby is a doll, of course. Perfect. Now I can start missing them again. :)

I'm almost glad you're home.

As for the power...consider an Uninterruptible Power Supply. As long as you leave the lights off the circuit, your heater, filter and airpump won't draw nearly the current a computer would so it could last for quite a while.

I'm almost glad you're home.
????????????????
Almost but not quite? :)

I guess if I had bought a portable air pump it would have done no good as no one was here to add it to the tank. I also have an angel with an open sore on his side and a gourami with a sore on his head. Added Metafix to the water to see what it will do. Don't know how they got it. Both were in separate tanks.

Tell me about your trip home from Japan, where you are now and what you're doing.

My trip back from Japan was relatively uneventful. Narita (Tokyo) to San Fran to San Diego.

Got in on Saturday, packed the truck/trailer a little Sunday and finished Monday with a 3pm departure time to head north. We weren't sure where we were going but knew we'd be staying in State Park camp grounds (Free for us).

We spent a couple nights at El Capitan State Beach and followed it up with a few nights at San Simeon State Beach. While we were there we did one of the tours at Hearst Castle.

We left San Simeon and headed to Sunset Beach above Monterey (One night) and then moved over to the Salinas area where we have friends. Took a day to visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium and another day for the horses.

When we finished there, we headed to the central valley area (Fresno-ish) to stay with other friends. Then we headed home to unpack and enjoy our church's fall festival.

End of vacation!

Wow. Sounds plenty busy to me. It's always nice to go somewhere but always nicer to return home, I think. I'm a creature of habit, it seems, and do like my daily schedule as is.

Good to have you back.
