I am trying to raise the salinity on my new GSP setup. I read the back of the directions on my Instant Ocean and it said for making small batches to mix 1/2 cup per gallon. I have read info on the web about using 1/2 cup per gallon to raise the salinity .002, (so that you don't destroy all the good nitrifying bacteria). So I figured to go with 1/4 cup per gallon, on a five gallon water change at first and the salinity for the whole tank, (which is a 30) ended up being .005!! This was a little too high of a jump to start off with I think. What amount of Instant Ocean should I be mixing to achieve a salinity reading increase of .002 per week?!

i would do a water change get a 5 gallon bucket wfill it treat it and then add about an 8th of a cup in the bucket and get a a peace of air tubing and drip it into your gsp tank and it will not stress them as much. gl this is ben by the way i could of just told you at work lol
