New 10 gallon!!!!!! Woot woot.....

We were messing around in Wal-Mart today and I grabbed a 10 gallon complete for only 30 bucks.... Here are some pics..... I will stock it with 6 dwarf panda cories, 4 gardneri clown killifish, 3 Malaysian Rainbow shrimp and 3 Bumblebee shrimp.... I still have to add plants.... I am going to throw in some java moss and anacuras if I can get it here tommorrow.... Sorry about the bubbles in front....

I'm off to the petstore here soon to see if I can get any plants to go in there... Probably about 20 minutes or so. I am fishless cycling it with pure clear ammonia... I'll let you guys know how it goes....

J it would probably be quicker to cycle your tank if you put your 10 gal filter on one of your other tanks and seed it that way. What kind of plants are you getting?

Was the $30 for all the stuff in the aquarium too ... driftwood, plants etc....?

If so, double congrats!

As for the fishless ... try to swap some of the filter material from an established tank. It'll speed thing up a lot. Faster cycle means less time waiting for the fish!

I pulled gravel from my 55 gallon... I got hogwort, anacharus and banana plant.. Here are two pics...... I will take another tonight and probably enter it in tank of the month with short hopes lol.........

lol yeah it stunk.. I took three showers yesterday... First time in three months I showered without a plastic bag covering my arm lol.....

If you've got gravel from another tank I'd start adding ammonia ASAP to make sure that you don't loose the cycling bacteria.

Other than that, good looking tank.

I should really dismantle my 10g...I'm replacing it with my frag tank...hopefully soon...but it seems wrong somehow to take down a tank...and right to set one up...

Well I got a AC50 that my brother had on his 30 gallon.. He has two. I put that on my 10 gallon and cracked it all the way down. That should help seed my tank very well..... I am thinking 10 days max with that filter on there and gravel from my 55 gallon..... Probably less.... I went ahead and made my order with AZ Gardens. I got 4 Clown Killies (2 in max), 2 Bumble Bee Shrimp, 2 Malaysian Rainbow Shrimp, and 5 dwarf panda cories ( 2 inches max)... they should arrive next Wednesday. If my 10 gallon isn't cycled I will take them and put them in my brothers tetra community 30 until it is ready but I really think it will turn very fast...........

Yeah I don't think it would take long either gm... I will probably have to grab a few of my brothers guppies and throw in there to keep ammonia in waiting for my order to come....

Nice tank!! It'll be exciting to see the plants fill out and such in it.

Make sure you take pictures of the fish when you get them. I'm falling in love with little cories...they're so cute!

Your tank looks beautiful, definitely won't take 10 days, I cycled a 40 gallon in 6 days heavily seeded of course, good luck and post pics when all your fish are in there.:thumb:

It is always nice on your second day of cycling to see ammonia at 8 ppm and nitrites at 5 ppm.... The tank should be done in a day or two lol.....

If I can't get fish locally I always order from AZ Gardens.... www.azgardens.com (http://www.azgardens.com) .. I got my rock cave from Jennings Run. It is a local stream. I grabbed rocks outta the stream... Scrubbed them. Left them soak in bleach for 72 hours... Scrubbed them again with vinegar and hot water then built it off of the rock shapes....

Thats the cheapest website Ive ever seen for fish. i wonder if thats where fish stores get their fish?? Anyonw how is shipping cost with them?
