What's the scientific name of those fish, Arkie? I'm unfamiliar with that common name.

Dave they are Victorian cichlids.. They are rare. THEY ARE AFRICANS FROM LAKE VICTORIA IN UGANDA (Sticking out tongue...haha...)... sorry couldn't resist lol.....

I think they are pundamilia sp..........

Common name varies as they aren't fully recognized due to their rareness
Most call them Crimson Tide Cichlids

well i picked them up last night and put them in my community tank (they came from a similar tank set-up so i think they should be ok). the male has coloured up nicely and the female seems to be happy too. happy enough to dine on my little albino rainbow shark. so needless to say they are eating well lol. sad for the shark but i was starting to think i got a dud one anyways.... its spine was a bit crooked (it didnt look like that in the shop but ill be lots more observant in future). so next friday ill just go and buy a bigger one. :wink2:

ill post pics soon as the camera is done charging (my daughter got to it and flattened the battery). im thinking they might be getting ready to breed as the male has been chasing the female around and he has coloured right up. ill be excited if they do spawn :18:
