View Full Version : My New Toy!
Just picked up one of these today ....

.... albeit, I didn't buy the C02 bottle/regulator set to go with it as the CO2 bottle won't be allowed on the plane for my trip back. Not a problem though, I'm just going to pick up a regulator and CO2 bottle locally.
It's made out actual glass, has a very classic yet modern look to it and comes with a very reliable chemical CO2 and Ph live test that's constantly in the tank monitoring your CO2 and Ph levels.
Since they aren't available in Canada (what a surprise) I'll be the envy of the local aquatic community ... thumbs2:
BTW, thanks to Fishalicious for the product recommendation!

I picked it up at Zoo Zajac in Germany for 39 Euros, here's the website address (only in German) ...

... the company is called Dennerle. I haven't seen anything from Dennerle in any shops in Canada or even online, so you may have to get it imported.

Very nice. I love the glass pieces. They are just to dang expensive/breakable for me to think about getting any.
You can pick up a 9oz CO2 cylinder and have it filled for ~$20 USD at any paint ball shop.

It was actually quite cheap, only 39 Euros for the tubing, live CO2/Ph test bell and 2 liquid tests, diffuser, bubble counter and check valve. The basic CO2 system from Nutrafin cost just about as much and is just plastic.
Our local pet store (only one of them) sells the disposable paintball sized canisters for $90. They recommended that I try a welding shop to get something cheaper. Will definitely check out the paintball option though, thanks for the suggestion.
The nice thing about Germany is that most of the pet stores I've been in fill up CO2 bottles for just a few Euros.

i figured $20 for a refill was crazy expensive too at first, since to get my 24oz filled its $5, but i think he means for a actual canister+a refill

Dennerle make the best thumbs2: Most serious planted tank owners in Germany and Holland use them... I use Dennerle as well and have this set on one of my Nano's - it is BEAUTIFUL :1luvu:
