I was looking in my tank the other day and I noticed that one of my clown plecos has a red spot on his fin. It sort of looks like a bloody spot but inside the skin. Is it ok?? It is too difficult to get a picture of it but should he be ok??

If it is hemmorhagic septicemia he is likely doomed. Hard to tell though without a picture.

Ok so I did a quick little search and that sounds like it. But when I looked at pictures of it...it looked nothing like what mine has. It is just a little red spot on his fin.
I would get a pic but it is really hard to and they all come out blurry and you can't see the red spot.

its septiciemia. it starts with one red spot and thats all it takes. i had a aulonocara albino cichlid a year ago that had red lining at the base of his top fin, i figured its always been there

within a day, he wouldnt eat, 2 days, the would barely move, 3 days, he wouldnt move at all, 4th day i popped him, since the disease is painful when it gets to the heart

oh man. That really sucks. He was been like this for about 2-4 days. He is still sucking on the glass and shows no sign of stress.

keep the water really clean, he might make it if he shows no lethargy

lethargy is kinda like lazy, if he starts sitting in one place and looking weak he probably has septicemia

I had a bala shark that developed red blotches, just the same I will try to find a pic for you and you can see if it looks the same, I also though it was septicemia, but was told if it was it would kill everything in my tank very quickly, I isolated him and treated with melafix, however he did die in the end, but I lost nothing else in my tank.
