So about half month ago I decide not to buy other type of fish to put my tank so I got one Dwarf gourami and nother two small gourami(don't remeber name) guess what?? the I notice three spot gourami start to chase them all the time and few days later they just dead one after another one... is something wrong with my tank or?? I already tired to keep buy fish all the time.. fish so expensive in Vancouver..
ps:as I understand gouramin is nice fish

The gourami are probably males fighting over territory or spawning rights.... Gourami are best in pair (male/female). Also the gourami in the tank already has established territories where the new fish are trying to establish them. Good luck with the tank and welcome to AC!!!!!!!

gouramis can be very territorial though i have to admit i have never heard of that extent of agression in them,
gouramis normally will live fine together as i have a peaceful tank with a mixture of gouramis with no trouble
maybe you might need to put in a gourami that is exactly the same breed as the one you have or dont put any sort of fish in there with it
i wished i could offer you more insight but it stricks me as really odd to hear that,
hopefully someone else can offer some more info then i can

may be the 2 ft tank is not enough for your 3 three spot gouramis themselves, that it results in agression?

thanks for all above reply.. now I need to considering if I need to change to different species of fish in my tank.. I don't like there is only two fish in the tank.. actually this is my first small tank since I start have fish tank 13 years ago, I used have 4 feet tank in my navy office at Taiwan after I move to Vancouver I notice the fish price is way to expensive than taiwan that is why I start with two feet only.. I thought I might make wrong decesion..
here is my tank before

sidney you could start another tank and keep the gouramis in the tank they are in. What size is the tank the gouramis are in anyway?
gouramis can live in peace with a variety of fish as well as different gourami breeds, if you check out my 4ft community in my signiture it will give you an idea of breeds i keep with them,
what type of fish are you interested in? and would like to keep?

Hmm, Thats a bit odd! I have a 4" - 4.5" Opaline Gourami and although it is much larger then my other fish, (Check siggie XD) I have not seen any aggresion in him/her (I think its a him!)
It even stays well away from my school of Glowies! Have a look at this site, it shows what the Gourami gets along with :D

Sidney that tank you have the pics of in your link is awsome. What a great set up. What species of fish did you keep in that and how many gallons of water did you have in it. Thanks for sharing.
If you can't get a bigger tank maybe see if you can trade that Gourami in towards a smaller dwarf species at your local fish store.

that tank is 4x2.5' customize order and I don't have that much water inside probably around 20 to 30 gallons only because that idea is 3D landscape fish tank so I only have some Red platy and guppy and shimps..
So I will thinking either I will give that fish to someone else or buy another same type gouurami female make pair for them..

Sidney,
I bet your gourami is a male, as they tend to be more aggressive than females.
I have a female three spot gourami in a 20 gal. tank with a school of 10 neon tetras and it has never bothered any of the neons at all, so I can safely recommend neons to go with your gourami.

Yesthat gouramin is male, I just bought one femal today but you know what? male one just like crazy guy and keep attack that femal one.. so I went to homedepot and got some insect net to block between.. thing is getting better now but the mae one still try to break trought net all the time.. so now I feel that gouramin is shark not gourmin.. never see fish like that aggresive..
