The picture on aquariumplants.com was NOT lying....
I knew it would be big but was hoping it would me small enough to fit in the tank....it wasn't. Definitely not meant for a 30gal tank to just pop it in there....

I ended up pulling it into two pieces and trimming a LOT of leaves and all the tiny plants that it came with. Planted as many of those tiny ones as i had room for. I'm hoping that i can keep trimming the leaves once it gets established so that they aren't growing out the tank too much.

UPDATE
pictures on second page.

Why don't you just host it on this site?

I'd like to see this thing..

It's definitely something weird. I can't upload to anything. Photobucket doesn't work, facebook won't upload along with this site. So it has something to do with uploading i guess.:c11:

But have you tried going to the photo gallery here and hosting it?

I haven't uploaded the images on photobucket yet so there isn't a link.... I also signed up for imageshack and it also couldn't upload.

After you mentioned this site doing it i tried and it also failed to upload.

Yeah it is definitely my internet service. It's been horrible the last few weeks and i'm in a constant battle with the cable company about it.

I almost guarantee that it's their problem and there's nothing i can do until they fix it somehow....

I've seen those plants before, and they are big. Like 20+ inches in height, and all bushy. Awesome plants too.

Mine was that big but with about 2 feet of extra little plants growing out the top. It still isn't better this morning so when i'm at class today i'll try to upload some photos. If not i'll have to trouble shoot some internet stuff this weekend.....

I had about 18inches from top to bottom in my tank and i figured i could just bend them to fit in........ o well it still looks good. I'll head to class and upload if i can.

It's a little cloudy in the pics since i took it right after i put them in. I ended up planting as many of the extra little plants as i could but still had a few dozen left over that i couldn't do anything with.

Hopefully the plants live after all the cutting i had to do to them.

Why don't you post the few dozen leftover in that classified section?

I have them in a bucket right now. They were out kinda long while i got the big ones in and dried out a little. I'm going to see if they continue to grow and hopefully if they get big enough i can get rid of the huge stump of cut stems i have in there now.

Well so far a lot of the bigger leaves that i didn't cut off are starting to turn yellow/brown and are dying.... I just hope the plant can recover and make it.

On a plus note the little ones i planted seem to be doing well. So if the big one fails as long as the little ones make it i don't care.

I actually wish the little ones would grow fast so i can just get ride of the big chunk of stems that will eventually become what the large one is.

WOW!! Your tank looks great! Definetly TOTM winner materal. Make sure you keep the algae off and try not to move the plants so they can develop a root system. Then they will start growing. What substrate is that? are you using substrate tabs?

I've seen some of the TOTM winners and even though i like mine i don't think it's ready....

I don't use any fertilizers other then Seachem Flourish every week....

the substrate is fluorite.

I am sorry but I may have missed where you got the plant from but that pic is the same one that arizona aquatic gardens has up for that plant.

http://www.azgardens.com/swords.php

Half way down the web page... Is that where you purchased it from? I am thinking of ordering some habitat packages from them, if you got it there I would love to know the experience. So hard for me to get anything other than java moss and java ferns here. ;)

I ordered from Aquariumplants.com
Used them twice and so far haven't been disappointed yet.

I'm going to cut all the leaves off today since i see a few new ones already forming. I would rather have the energy put into those then wasted trying to save the huge leaves that are out of my tank anyway.
