Hi,

I also posted this in the "Discus" thread.
I have 11 discus, 3 choco gouaramis, 2 angels, and 3 loaches and 2 catfishes in my 6 ft tank. I would like to increase the health of my plants by adding C02 gas to my water.

Is this possible with a discus tank?
Will it affect the health of my fish?
Can anyone tell their experiences of using C02 gas in their planted/fish tank?

Regards,
Sue

If you have a heavily planted tank, a healthy substrate, meaning lots of ferts, and have excellent lighting 2 or more watts per gallon, you can benefit from co2 in your tank.

If not, I would recommend that you adjust the other things first before adding co2. Once you have those in place, the co2 will be used up before it becomes toxic to fish. The plants will increase the amount of o2 in the tank, there-by making it a healthier living condition.
