Hi,

I have 11 discus, 3 choco gouaramis, 2 angels, and 3 loaches and 2 catfishes in my 6 ft tank. I would like to increase the health of my plants by adding C02 gas to my water.

Is this possible with a discus tank?
Will it affect the health of my fish?
Can anyone tell their experiences of using C02 gas in their planted/fish tank?

Regards,
Sue

Sure, not a problem with that at all. I ran CO2 at a concentration of 30ppm on my planted Discus tank with absolutely no ill effects on the Discus. In fact, the effect the CO2 had on the pH brought out even better colors in my Discus and they were much more comfortable in the tank. Since that tank was all South American soft water species, they all perked up and the colors really popped.

I have a heavily planted tank, and that is not an issue. Your plants will look amazing within a few weeks of the addition.
