my custom glass top i ordered from aquagiant is ready tomorrow, so currently my 90g is open top

i was doing my final feeding for the night, and somehow my precious white show convict flew out of the tank and onto the carpet infront of me, it probably took ~2 seconds to react, ~5 seconds to find a net and something to use to get him in the net, and ~5 seconds from trying to get him in the net to in the water, so about 15 seconds out of the tank.

hes okay, and swimming around but gasping a bit, its a good 48" from top of the 90g to the floor

will he have any major damage from the fall? ive never had a fish jump out and me catch it floping

i think he should be ok, oscar jumped out of my tank, onto the floor and went flapping across the carpet and under my bed. i grapped the net and covered him with it. picked him up and dropped him back in the tank. he was fine no major damage done besides me having a minor heart attack lol.:ezpi_wink1:

i think it was a one time thing, its been open top for a while, i think the oscar or pacu got too hyper over the food and nailed him, he got some good air after the jump

if your oscar made it arkie im sure he will be fine then, thanks for the info!

man cocoa. this must have been an exciting month for you. i am very happy you saved him though. the worst thing in the world is finding a dead fish on the floor.

I think he'll be okay. I had a male convict who jumped out and must have been out for an hour and he was okay. Plus the floor your convict fell on was carpeted.

I'm sure he'll be fine our fish are a lot hardier than we tend to give them credit for.:thumb:

man, here i thought it took all of this time to work on the glass, and it turns out i had to wait because the boss was away and only he can operate the machine! i had to wait 36 hours and it took 5 minutes to cut it and sand it

at least it fits

When I had my glass cut for a lid, I was in and out in 5 mins. It doesn't take too long for them to cut glass.

By bala jumped out yesterday, but he landed in the kids toy box, which is under the tank, so had to scrounge through trying to find him in amongst all the toys! That was a job and half! You'll be glas to get that lid cocoa. lol

yeah, and after i install the dam glass the 10" oscar slips through the 2" gap for my FX5 hoses in the back, flops on top, and i find him dead 8ft from the tank. thats irony. lol

otherwise, the convict isnt the same. he used to be a bright white with dark orange on his back, and electric blue fins, now hes just a dull white, with barely any orange, and regular fins. i was going to enter him in a show but now i dont think i can

today im gonna get a new oscar from petsmart
