What medications should I have right away? Melafish and pimafix? BTW, here is another question: melafish treats bacteria, but pimafix supposedly treats bacteria and fungal. Which should I have? And what is a good ick medicine to have on hand? I have looked at quick-cure and I think that it can't be used with plants.

Uh, it's melafix, not melafish. Just so you know. I have mela and pimafix on hand, as well as a malachite green treatment. Maybe some aquarium salt as well.

I use maracide on my tanks with ich. It does not kill plants. But you had better pull your inverts out, just to be on the safe side.

Woops! I knew it was melafix. Just typos. I have cherry shrimp though, but I can't find them in my plants. Oh well. I have aquarium salt. So mela and pima fix, and maracide. That seems fine.

Besides the usual primafix, melafix and aquarium salt I also keep epsom salt on hand to help flush some of my cichlids systems out about once every month to six weeks.

This is a good list especially for beginers; , maybe we should break it up into saltwater / freshwater?
