I went to my favorite LFS today after school to pick up a few mushroom corals.

I came out with:

3x Striped mushroom corals - $18 ($6 a peice)
1x Colony of Zoanthids - $20
1x Orange ricordia polyp - $25
1x Bottle of coral food - $5

I talked to the lady there for an HOUR about all of the corals, and fish there. She is a really nice person, and she gave me the bottle of coral food that was $12 for $5, because I shared her taste in Orange ricordias.

My new corals are drip acclimating right now. Expect pictures in a few hours.

Here are some pics. Not the best quality, and there is a bunch of little air bubbles from my skimmer in there (need to get that sorted out), and they aren't fully opened or colored up, so bear with me:

Great selections drum! I love the ric!!!

Are you really supposed to drip acclimate your corals????

Everyone I know just drops them in...no bag float, no nothing.

I drip just in case. I figure if you don't need to, it won't hurt anything, and if you do need to, well, I don't really have a choice!

I've always got a spot in my tank for mushrooms. They were the first coral I'd ever kept. Great little corals.

the store here is loaded with mushrooms, the one i usually go to sells corals out of a 300g long and 55g, and they have 100 mushrooms in the 300g.

im just gonna cut mine off and place them somewhere else in the tank

Good stuff man. Coral food hmm interesting. I think i ll invest in that.

Mushrooms are sweet! They are like my favorite species of coral.

It says it has vitamins, proteins, and spirulina. You use a plastic syringe and target feed each coral 2 drops, two times a week. Pretty cool stuff.

That sounds like a lot of work. I think i ll pass. I want something I can just add to my water.

Colored ric is always nice and rare. I remember a guy I know was selling blue ric for $40 a polyp. And he could be considered wholesale.

Ok, bad news. I went to do a waterchange on my salt tank, and realized I could only find 2 of my new shrooms.

It was attached to a few pieces of gravel when I bought it, and I used underwater epoxy to attach it to my LR. It was gone. When I drained some water, I took out most of my LR to look for it. Can't find it.

There goes $6 down the john.

In other news, my NEW zoa opened up. It has some pretty sick colors too. Going to try to get a pic or two now.

THE best picture I have EVER taken. I am going to use blockposters.com and turn it into a 3x2.5 foot poster, mount it on black cardboard, and hang it somewhere.

I apologize for the page stretch. Its just such a good picture, I didn't have the heart to shrink it.

Wow, that is a great frag Drum! You should put those somewhere where they can spread out, they have GREATcolor.

I am going to get some more rock soon, so they can have a bit of room to stretch out a bit. In the tank at the store, they looked kinda brownish pink. They were the cheapest frag they had (aside from mushrooms), so I decided to get them. When I got home, they got their colors, and I was psyched.

My brother and his wife are moving to Houston, and they always love oggeling my tanks when they come around, so I think I'll make up an extra set of the posters as a house warming gift.

Also, I am making a poster of this one:

Once again, I apologize for the stretch.

Like everyone else, you will go until you run out of room, then you will find yourself researching larger tanks on the internet, lol.

Drumachine09

I've already been researching larger tanks, lol.

Two problems though:

My mom says "And where do you plan on putting THAT monstrosity" whenever I bring up the idea of a 100+ gallon tank.

And two, I plan on leaving for college, and 99.999% of dorms won't let you have a massive aquarium, so this will have to do. Store credit for zoos will be nice though ;)

Nice zoos Drum and a very cool pic. I'll have to check out the poster site you referred to. That would be awesome to have.

I got another REALLY good picture of my new mushroom, and an equally good pick of my ricordia. I'll photobucket them tonight and post them.

I got this stuff called "Inkjet Canvas Paper". It looks like Artist's canvas. When you print, it gives it a really cool look. I am doing it to all four, and framing them.
