Does the breeding tank need to just as large as a normal tank for the same 2 fish?

For example would texas cihlids breed in a 30 gallon tank?

Not sure what you mean.

I was considering breeding my Red Texas and I am wondering what size tank 2 Red Texas Cichlids need to breed. My main tank is the 95 gallon in my sig.

Could they breed in a 22 gallon? Curious as to what I would need.

how big are they right now? A 22 or 30g seems pretty small for a full sized texas cichlid.

Well, if you are planning on then spawning there, then removing them, then it should be okay. But if you want them to raise the fry themselves, you will need over 45gals.

Right now the Texan I have is actually small, he is around 2-4 inches. I just purchased a 28 gallon bowfront to use as a quarntine for an oscar wtih fin fot. After, that I was considering moving the Texan there because he is being very aggressive all the time. This would probably be a short term solution. As I am sure he would need more thatn the 28 gallons.

So I am just sort of feeling out my options.
