It took me like 5 tries to get the right amount of water (5ml) in that stupid test tube for my master test kit..
Fill..Too much.. Dump a little.. too much.. #@!!! Fill.. Filled too much.. #@!!!!!!
I would like to get one of those little eye dropper thingies, 5ml capacity, so I just have to squeeze the bulb on the end, and BOOM, I have enough..
I know it won't be on the nose, and I know it doesn't HAVE to be (does it?)..
But I can see that saving me alot of hassle down the road..
What are those things called, and where could I get them (in Canada, preferably)?
Also, what are those little glass vials called? I broke one of them already!!!
Thanks!
I use a 10ml syringe (without needle of course)
you can load it up to say 8 ml and know stop squeezing around 3 ml and should stop exectly on the 5 ml line..
really easy.

I use the little syringes (that came with the test kits--no needles) that hold a bit more than 5 mls. I pull up over 5 mls and then slowly press down the plunger till I'm right at 5. Pretty easy, I think, and pretty darn exact to the 5 mls needed for testing.
You might be able to get these at a vet...they are often used for dosing liquid pet medicine.

The glass tubes are just mini beakers.... You can use a syringe like previous or I just used a children's tylenol dropper.. They come on all kinds of medicine. I bleached it and then boiled it to rid all the residue....

You can get the medicine droppers at almost any drugstore, walmart, or kmart for a few dollars. Some are graduated in increments of 1mm for easy measuring.

I just get eye level with my tank, and put it in the water and fill it up really slowly so I can see when its at the line. Works for me.

I buy mine at walmart, they hang on racks above the contact solutions and eye drops. If you can't find them, just ask someone they will have them.

I fill the test tube under the line then add water using the cap. Take about 10 sec.

Pipette!
Thanks!
I'll check the Walmart for a 5ml eye dropper.. Failing that, I could get a syringe fairly easy I should think..
Thanks again for the input!!
