my tank was beginning to look like i had stuck a cat in there it was so hairy with algea. so the other day i got my hands dirty and did some high maintainance. i trimmed the plants of all their sick or dying leaves, pulled out the coconut hut, and removed a moss ball that was just not taking to well. 2 days later, were lookin good :)

thanks all. so do you think i should just go for a flat black background... so as not to take away from the tank? and what plants work for good groundcover? are there any that do well without needing alot of special attention?

The background looks good! If you want something a little lighter, you could maybe go with blue or something.

BTW, time to change the date on the ol' camera, eh? :ezpi_wink1:

Tank looks fantastic! If looking for a foreground plant, you could try narrow leaf chain sword. It spreads by runners, and can propagate fairly easily.
