I trying to downsize, so what do I do, I buy a new 125 gallon tank :)
Actually, I plan on emptying my 300 gallon tank and putting 1/2 of the stock in this 125 and the other half of the stock into an already existing 180 gallon tank.

Here I plan to show my progress.

I added 180 lbs. of Eco-Complete and the piece of drift wood I added acually comes out of the top of the tank a few inches.

Here we are empty

And with 1/3 to 1/2 water and a few plants to start

Tomorrow I will add many more plants, wood and water and add a few pics.

Thanks for looking

I wish I had the problem of downsizing to a 125g tank. :)

Looks good so far. The driftwood is an intersting idea.

I love this piece of wood, it is hollow inside which should give some interesting spawning spots for either my Apistos or Bristlenose.

The 300, well I have it up for sale but if I don't sell it I am going to empty it and make it into my Tanganyikan tank. As a planted community it was tanking up too much time to maintain plus with the high lights and high temp it was killing my electric bill.

How much are you asking for the 300?

What kind of filter system are you using, because in a few years we might be setting up a tank about that size. I'm thinking you're using canister but just wondering.

I have the 300g glass tank with stand and glass top for $1200.
I figure my tank is costing me $150 - 200.00 a month. I have three MH's and four 96W CF's running 11 hours a day plus I keep the tank ove 80 degrees. I also have 2 Eheim Pro 3's and one Eheim Pro 2 and two pumps running two CO2 units. High Tech! With all my tanks I've seen electric bills in the 600.00 range.

I am also moving all my tanks into my office at work. Advantages of owning your own business.

That's how it is with my dad, but his office is in our house, so he can do whatever he wants. But we dont have a fish tank back there but it would look nice.

Man.... I wish I had a place to put that tank. I'm only a couple hours from you. That's some crazy electrical costs. I was wondered what it would take.... now I know. yikes!
