I read some horror stories about purple dottybacks terrorizing community tanks, so I traded in my dottyback for a royal gramma. Just so you know, dottybacks are IMPOSSIBLE to catch, so I had to remove half of the live rock in order to get him out of there.

Anyway, now I have a friendlier royal gramma in my tank, and he was only $5 with the trade in. His tank mate right now is a male perc. clown which I am eventually going to try to pair up. The fish are in a 10g now, but will be moving to a 16.5g all-in-one next week

Lovely fish!

I had a choice between a Royal Gramma and a Purple Psuedochromis. I chose the PP.

main reason i couldnt stand my dotty is he was crabby, beat the he11 out of my clown goby, and luckily i saved the goby in time.

I figured when i had my small 20g high as a nano i could try a shrimp, so i bought a wicked $80 shrimp. lights off, and i put in the shrimp.

.3 seconds later~ shrimp shell

congrats on the royal gramma! IMO theyre one of the coolest nano fish

That's so horrible. I hate losing livestock, and I hate it even more when something gets eaten by a crabby tank mate.

Nice looking RG, good luck with him, I think they are a great looking fish.
I tried a RG in my tank and it fought from the get go with my clarkii. The clarkii was too protective of his anemone. So I traded my rg for a couple of damsels. They worked out much better.
