I don't know why yours look like that. Mine don't. From the vid, they look splotchy. Mine are opalensent <sp?> with some small markings on their fins that give them away as female. I don't know what to tell yah.

when I bought them they looked like normal females. but the last two days they have started turning dark. like they are dirty or some thing.. they seem healthy just changing colors.

I don't know bud, that mottling on their skin doesn't look so good. I have never seen it. Are they okay other than the coloring? None of mine have those markings. What temp you running? I am around 80 in my tank. I will continue to look around to see if I can find anything out.

I have never had female dwarf gouramis.

But my blue gouramis, when they are going to spawn, their colors get intense. They look prettier, not bad. Normally my females lack color. It could also be your nutrition... do have a varied diet?

I know a lot of fish change colors when they're stressed too. Just a thought. Sounds like a breeding change though.

well the males are not building nest yet so cant be that, they maybe stressed, the males do keep them in the corner some and every time I look at them they hide. but if I turn out all the light in the home at night and watch them, they do come out..
