I was looking at the midas chiclid profile and saw the male adult. To me it look like a goldfish flowerhorn. My question is will the orange always go away and white replace it? Gotta get some info soon, getting fish for my 46g hex in a week or 2.

One would fit in that tank. Some maintain their coloration, others will lose it. Genetics and diet can be major factors.

Gold or red texas flowerhorns are a hybrid. Flowerhorns are supposed to be trimac crosses.

Much more, especially a red texas with decent size and good coloration.
