Favourite Tetra?

Well I decided to make a poll to find out what everyone's favourite tetra is! By common name.
I know there are hundreds but I'm only able to include the more common ones in this poll. I also add harlequin rasboras because they are often associated with tetras.

My favourites are rummynose and cardinal tetras!

cardinal and serpaes, nothing beats a school of 150 cardinals in a planted tank

My favorite by look would be the black phantom. However, every tank I set up, I always have neon in it. Neon are small so you can have a lot which mean more schooling behavior. Schooling behavior is one of the main reason why I like tetras, so my vote is for the neon.

I have six cardinals in my 10g, and they are amusing to watch. They look amazing in planted tanks with blue background film. When they school, they are almost hypnotizing to watch, and I can never take my eyes off of schooling cardinals.

Well, technically piranhas aren't tetras, although they are in the same family, Characins.

Cardinals..

Though I don't own any of my own yet.. :)

They just have spectacular visual appeal.. More so than the neons..

I love cardinals for their colors, as well as being hardy little fish that can grow up to 2 inches. Perfect for my tank. Just trying to find a fish store that has healthy ones is another matter. I may look into breeding these...I know, difficult, but I may try it.

They are sort of tetras, since they are characins, but for this poll I really only made it about the smaller, more commonly kept tetras.

You could also consider pacus, SDs, freshwater barracuda, pink-tailed chalceus, slant nosed gar, and hatchets to be tetras. All depends on how you look at it I guess.

Cardinals and rummynose, can't beat them because they are easy to get and pretty hardy.

I know why I love cardinals, you can't beat that color!
But I'm not sure what about rummynoses that I like.

Is it the cute red noses?

The checkered tail?

The way that their nose changes color based on water quality?

Their tight schools and very social behaviour?

Their peaceful and energetic nature?

Or all of the above!

Lemon and Panda tetras are my favorite. The lemons are stunning when schooling, especially if their colors are developed.

We've got Ornate Tetras and they're really nice ... so I voted that. We've also had neons, but it's too common for me to vote as a favorite.

Well I had to pick two....my favorite that will fit into my tank are my green fire tetras. BUT if I could choose any of them, I would pick the congo tetras.
Some day I will have a 100+ tank dedicated to all tetras....thats my dream :)

Lol, I'm gonna go with Other and pick my Black Morpho Tetras. My rarest and most entertaining tetras AND the only tetras that have bred for me. Got 'em at 1.99 a peice, a couple days later I went back and they had changed the price to 7.99 a peice.
