im nto sure if this is correct but i read somewhere that for a single oscar it will require a 50 gal tank and for any additional oscars it will require another 25 gal if this is correct so u would need a 100 gal to keep three oscars isnt that abit small

Ive read all sorts of different size recommendations for keeping oscars, and other bigger cichlids. 100 Gal imo would be enough for 3 oscars, but in the end I guess it really comes down to how much space do you want to give them, Because it isnt like they will die in a 100 gal tank, just might wish they had more space, and might have to spend extra time keeping it clean unless you got osme serious filtration.

I always went with the thought that 1 Oscar requires 55 gallons Minimum. I personally would put two into a 100 gal. A 75 would work, but i think would be a little small for two full grown Oscars. My 5" tiger Oscar is in a 55 with three SD's right now and it is starting to look pretty filled up. I would like to get him and the SD's a 75.

im purshacing a 180 gal soon for my room that will house my 10 and 8 inch oscars, my 2 5 inch acaras and 2 3 inch convicts ciclids and was just curiousbut i also thought that it was alright at first then had seconds thoughts but as william alwasy says it also widely depends on the cichlids as they are all individuals

Yea, i think a 180gal would be sufficient for those fish.

To be honest I think you need at least a 75 gal for an oscar in order to not stunt the fish. Although 100 gal is enough for 2. Are you feeding them pellets or live? You will have to clean alot more with a smaller tank. I have kept an oscar is a 55 gal and he was happy but I did frequent water changes and he grew to about 5.5-6 inches then stopped. He was 2 years old.

Ok i know this is wrong but kept my Albino oscar in a 20 gal for the first year and half of his life and he grew to 10 inches then moved him into a 55 gal with a red tiger oscar and he grew to 12 icnes (that was about a month ago) and the red tiger oscar is almost about 9 inches and is growing quickly, hense the need for a 180 gal
