smaller tank though harder to break.... bigger footprint would be trouble.....

A smaller tank would be easier to break but still, you have to admit that's strong! And i still never broke!

Nick smaller tank the footprint is closer. Less surface area so more stress per square inch but also less stress on the glass because the supports are closer........ The bigger the piece the easier it is to break..... That is why when tanks get bigger you have to use thicker glass... The surface area tension can not hold the water weight.....

Larger tanks also have thicker glass, usually braced in the middle, or in thirds.

i actually think small tanks and large tanks are equal. small tanks 55g and under have thin glass and small surface area, but 75g's and 90g's have huge braces and thick glass. my 90g has gone though my pacu hitting it multiple times and not a crack, the glass is mega thick
