He'll be fine. Actually you are better off having him alone vs. having him with other males where there may be fighting.

Dwarf male gouramis can be left alone in a tank. Or, you can buy 2 as long as you got a lot of cover. They are territorial fish, so you need a big size aquarium if you are buying 2, and they must be bought together. Introducing one, and then a week later getting another will cause them to fight worse than if they were purchased together.

Just a suggestion.

Good luck finding female dwarf gouramis. They are hard to locate.

I do have one single dwarf gourami. He lives in my community tank. He has been in there almost a year with no problems so far.
