Do they make sure a thing? I have pengiun bio-wheels and I have to crawl under the tank to unplug them each water change and then prime them again. What a pain! I thought I saw somewhere a bio-wheel with a shut-off but now can't find it anywhere.

I haven't seen one. One thing that i've done for a few things is get a remote switch. Something like model 88359W on Lowes.com.

I would wonder why you need to turn it off, though. I never needed to. Then again, I had a tube extension on mine to reach almost to the bottom of my 24" deep tank.

I have long tube extensions, as well, but in the center of the tube is another section for filtering from further up in the aquarium. Two strainers, in other words, within one tube. Pengiuns have this additional strainer on their filter tubes. I like the idea, really, but don't like having to unplug the filter for each water change and don't want to burn the filters up.

A shut-off would be soooo nice. Look at the money you could make if you invented this.

Ahh, but for $8 or whatever it is you can have the switch anywhere you want it within about 15 feet.

Mike you are so bad! You sent me on this search at Lowe's and here it was...........just an extension cord with a switch on it.

But why didn't I think of this! Thank You, Thank You.

Ya know, I can wrack my brains over the stupidest things and someone can post just the simplest solution that you have to hit yourself in the head for not thinking of it. Thank gawd there are much smarter people out there than me.
