ok this is what i have in 75g
egg crate
40lbs of eco-complete african cichlid sand
60lbs of moon rock
the sand is only covering the egg crate by 1/4-1/2 inch and in some places i can see the egg crate this is a newly cycled tank and just added the fish last night . the eco -complete sand is packaged in this cloudy water and it does not get rinsed so if i add more i would do it a hand ful at a time and mix it around a little right so dont smuther the bacteria in the exsiting sand and not cloud the water that much and can i do with the fish in the tank

Personally I would add another 25 lbs of sand. Your fish will be continously moving it around exposing your egg crate.

Any time I have added more sand to an existing tank I have grabbed the biggest ziplock bag they make. Snip off a corner, pinch the snipped corner closed, fill it with sand. Shut your fillters off. Then lower the cut end into the tank and slowly let the sand out and put in however much you want. Leave your filters off for about 5 min for sand to settle.

Or you can go get a new long necked funnel.
