I have had 2 oscars now for 3 months and they about 3 and a half inches long.My pleco is also the same age and seems to be growing at a quicker rate .How long does it normally take an oscar to fully grow ?

What size tank?
What filtration?
What water change schedule?
What nitrate concentration?
What diet?

They are all different. I had one go from about 2" to about 4.5-5" in a couple months. Others don't seem to grow at all.

It really depends on the size tank and filtration and what food you give. 1 oscar needs a minimum of 55 gallons, 75 is best for 1 and you could have 2 if you have great filtration and a good water change schedule. I would only feed NLS to them. Its the best, complete diet there is. If kept in those conditions, he should grow 1-2" a month. Some when smaller can grow much faster. As they get bigger they start to slow down. So it would take maybe 2-3 years to reach 13-14". But it usually takes a year to reach a 10-12".

If they go in a 75 gallon as a pair they are fully matured at around 2 and a half years........... If you keep them in a smaller tank it takes a little while longer as you will stunt their growth..... It also depends on what you feed them....
